Welcome to Homestreet-Banyan Tree, where people can grow and heal.

Our mission is to assist people with long-term psychiatric, emotional, or developmental impairments.

The origins of Homestreet-Banyan Tree, Inc. began twenty five years ago, when two small non-profit mental health organizations formed. Homestreet, Inc. was incorporated in 1981 to provide support for people with mental illnesses living in the general community. The Banyan Tree started as a group home operation in 1984, offering an alternative to persons discharged from the State Hospital . Both agencies were started with significant support from family members, along with faith-based groups, professionals, and good neighbors.

In 2004 these two agencies voluntarily merged into Homestreet-Banyan Tree, Inc. The merger allowed a broader spectrum of services to be offered by the single agency, while seeking to reduce any redundant administrative costs.

Today, Homestreet-Banyan Tree, Inc. continues as a tax-exempt charitable organization that offers case management, counseling, psychiatric services, peer support (through mentors as well as a consumer-operated drop-in center), and affordable housing to hundreds of adults experiencing debilitating mental illness. Clinical offices are located in Beaverton , Aloha, and Hillsboro , Oregon .
